Privacy Policy
DailyOK is a daily phone check-in for older adults, run by Alec Hemenway. A family member (the caregiver) signs up and sets up calls for a parent or someone else they look after. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with.
What we collect
- From caregivers: name, email, phone number, time zone, notification settings and any feedback you give on call scores. Your sign-in session is stored on your device. If you turn on Face ID, your sign-in details are saved only in your device's secure storage.
- About the person we call, as the caregiver enters it: name, preferred name, phone number, time zone and call time, plus any optional details you choose to add, such as age or date of birth, location, living situation, interests, family context, communication notes, known health conditions, health notes, memories to bring up on calls, and notes you leave for the caller.
- From each call: the transcript, call timing and status, call quality data, wellbeing and cognitive scores, and details our system notes to make later calls feel personal (for example, a grandchild's name).
- Call recordings, only if you turn them on. Recording is off by default and is set per person. When it is on, our caller is instructed to mention early in the call that it is being recorded.
- From the mobile app: a push notification token so we can send you alerts.
How we use it
- To place the daily call and hold the conversation.
- To analyze each call and compare it with that person's own recent calls.
- To alert caregivers by text or push notification when something seems off.
- To show caregivers the dashboard and call history.
- To keep DailyOK working, fix problems and improve the accuracy of our analysis.
- To review calls and transcripts ourselves when fixing problems or checking that accuracy.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't show ads.
Text messages
If you choose DailyOK text alerts, we use your mobile number and consent record to send caregiver alerts about check-in concerns and missed calls. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. We do not sell or share mobile numbers or SMS opt-in and consent data with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We share only the information needed with service providers that deliver our text messages. You can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. See our SMS terms for details.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the companies that run parts of DailyOK, and only as needed:
- Supabase: database, sign-in and backend hosting.
- Twilio: phone calls, text alerts and call recordings (when on).
- xAI: the live voice conversation, including the profile details, notes and memories the caller uses.
- OpenAI and Anthropic: analysis of call transcripts.
- Vercel: hosting for this website.
- Expo: delivering push notifications to the mobile app.
Other caregivers invited to the same person's account can see that person's calls and results. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.
Health information and security
Health details you enter, and what our analysis finds, are sensitive. Each caregiver can see only the people on their own account, and recordings play through our servers instead of public links. No system is perfectly secure, so tell us right away if you think your account has been misused.
Keeping and deleting information
We keep information while the account is active. To see, correct or delete your information, or the information of someone you set up, email hemenway.alec@gmail.com. We'll act on the request within 30 days, unless the law requires us to keep something.
Children
DailyOK is not for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For a significant change, we'll tell caregivers in the app or by email before it takes effect.
